Alcohol and Other Drugs
Alcohol and Drug education is most effective when it is supported by a comprehensive school wide approach. The Alcohol Health Promoters with WAVE are available to help Secondary Schools look how this is achieved.
This could include:
- Policy around legal and illegal drug use at school activities, including the use of these drugs by staff, BOT, students and fundraising events
- Information about community resource groups that can support core drug education delivered by health teachers.
- Information for parents/guardians
- Support for SADD activities within the school
- Professional development for teachers/coaches about strengthening community action on alcohol
