  • I have been teaching at Geraldine High School as Head of Department in Home Economics and Health.

FAVOURITES: 

Physical Activity: Squash, Gardening, Catching up with friends regularly.

Food: I love planning and preparing meals to share with friends & neighbours.

Drink: I love a really great cappuccino

BEST THING ABOUT THIS JOB:

Working in Health Promotion in all my allocated schools. Seeing the Student WAVE teams grow with enthusiasm as they action plan their goals and being part of that team.

Physical Activity Health Promoter

  • Physical Education / Health Teacher
  • Played Softball (Black Sox)
  • Born Southland
  • Worked and played softball overseas for a number of years

FAVOURITES: 

Physical Activity: Keeping fit, spending as much time with family as I can fit in.

Food: Bluff Oysters, eating well and healthy ( most of the time)

Drink: Protein Shakes             

Saying: “If you always do what you have always done you always get what you always got.”

BEST THING ABOUT THIS JOB:

Meeting and working with parents, teachers, pupils and the community.

BACKGROUND: 
  • Several years' experience in the Health Sector
  • Lots of travel experience has led me to value health and work towards reducing inequalities
  • Recently moved from Christchurch to Timaru

FAVOURITES: 

Physical Activity: I like running with friends.  And dancing is so much fun, these days I can usually be found doing this in a zumba class

Food: Whitebait patties!  Actually most Kaimoana is right up there in my books

Drink: Water is my first choice.  I really like sparkling water with a slice of lemon when I'm feeling posh

Saying: "Learning is a journey, not a destination"
