Nutrition
The Nutrition Health Promoter working with WAVE is available to assist Early Childhood Centres to develop a healthy eating environment. Working with individual settings to:
- Identify opportunities for and barriers to healthy eating
- Develop action plans to create a healthy eating environment
- Help with implementation
- Provide ideas on healthy fundraisers
- Provide information and resources on healthy eating
- Undertake professional development for teachers/educators to develop a whole setting approach to promote healthy eating
- Co-ordinate nutrition curriculum support
- Develop a nutrition policy
- Share ideas to ensure healthy eating choices are the easy choices
- Organise workshops for school canteen operators and food service staff

FAVOURITES: Physical Activity: love to get off the main roads to go mountain biking over farm tracks and competing in local South Canterbury events. Run regularly to keep fit and enjoy a day on the ski field in between the range of tasks needing to be done to keep a blueberry operation ticking over. Food: lived on an orchard when younger where I developed a real love of feijoas Drink: always ready for a cuppa Saying: “ just do it……” |
